Yesterday we looked at the gorgeous room made especially for King Louis XIV. It’s not the only beautifully decorated bedroom at the château though, and today we’ll take a look at some of the others.
This first bedroom belonged to Nicolas Fouquet, the original owner of Vaux-le-Vicomte. The canopied bed takes centre stage.
This nice sized bedroom was once part of Madame Fouquet’s much larger bedroom. Its most recent use was as bedroom to Edme Sommier, grandfather to the current owner, back in the early 1900s.
I’m quite partial to the pretty floral wallpaper.
This last room once belonged to Duc de Praslin, who makes Fouquet’s scandalous story of being accused of embezzlement look like child’s play.
I think if I had to choose a room for myself, it would be the third. I like the clean white walls and sunny yellow furnishings. Which would you choose?
Bonne journée!
Marla
Thanks for the link, very interesting story. I think the last room with the yellow and white is the one I would choose, the others are too busy.

To me, because of the yellow bed, I imagine that the last one feels like every day begins with sunshine. ☀️

It’s a little too much for my tastes. 😅
