I took a lot of photos during my visit to Vaux-le-Vicomte. Of course I did. So many, in fact, that I’m feeling a little overwhelmed with where to start. I have decided that looking up is as good of a place as any, and am sharing an assortment of ceiling photos.
If I’ve learned anything from the amount of times I’ve walked away with a kink in my neck, it’s that these fancy French chateaux rarely have a surface untouched.
Bonne journée!

I get a stiff neck just looking at all these great ceiling photos.

I wish I had taken more ceiling photos when I was in Rome but I did take my time to try to absorb but now all I have are the impressions of Wow!

I haven’t always taken photos looking up, and I look back like you do and wish I had started earlier.

Gorgeous! I’d never heard of Vaux-le-Vicomte before until this post. Goes to show that one could take a lifetime exploring France’s hundreds of châteaux and still not see them all! The frescoes are beautiful, and your post gives me incentive to return to France for them. 🙂

Do it! It’s an easy day trip from Paris so if you can work it in, it’s definitely worth it. Especially because it’s not nearly as crowded as some.
