Offsite is the Vancouver Art Gallery’s cleverly named offsite public exhibition space, featuring temporary installations of contemporary works. Featured artists are said to, “consider the site-specific potential of art within the public realm and respond to the changing social and cultural conditions of our contemporary world.”.
Remember when I said the other day that I’m not knowledgeable about art? Prime example would be contemporary art, which immediately confuses my brain. The current Offsite installation is by Austrian based artist Erwin Wurm.
I mean no disrespect to Mr. Wurm, but I have no idea what the heck is going on. Therefore I’ll stop now and let the images speak for themselves.
To read the write-up about Mr. Wurm’s installation, check out the Vancouver Art Gallery’s website here.
New projects are installed twice per year, in Spring and Autumn, in case you’re interested in checking them out yourself.
Bonne journée!

More intriguing is the fact that these creations started off as ideas in someone’s mind…🤔
