Sarlat-la-Canéda, often simply referred to as Sarlat, is a medieval town in France’s south western Dordogne region. I visited Sarlat twice last year with my boyfriend, once during an afternoon and another time during an evening.
Here’s a selection of photos I took during our afternoon visit, after I fell in love with curry dip and we fought our way through the throngs of other tourists to take in the sights.
As you can tell, I fell in love with the old buildings. Next post, I’ll share more Sarlat photos – this time taken at night.
Bonne journée!

We spent 2 summer holidays there when our son was little and had a wonderful time canoeing down the Dordogne and joining children’s activities like sack and egg & spoon races, etc. We also joined in La Fête de la Rivière, which consisted of a communal meal with the locals on typical long tables, followed by a candlelit parade of boats down the river and a dance serenaded by live music: it was fantastic!

Nice evocative photos of these old buildings. (Somehow you managed to crop all those throngs of other tourists out of your photos; or had they already left town for the evening?)

Thank you! As for the missing people, just lucky timing!
