Outside the New York New York Hotel, in The Park, you’ll find the dancing woman statue called Bliss Dance.
Created by Italian-born sculptor Marco Cochrane, Bliss Dance is one of 3 steel statues in a series of naked female dancers.
“What I see missing in the world is an appreciation and respect for feminine energy and power that results when women are free and safe. It seems obvious to me that feminine energy is being suppressed and that this must change. If we are to find real, lasting solutions to the problems facing humanity, men and women must be able to work together as equals. Bliss Dance is intended to focus attention on this issue.”
– Marco Cochrane, Feb 2016 press release announcing installation of Bliss Dance at The Park
Standing at an impressive 12 metres, and weighing in at a whopping 3400kgs, Bliss Dance is an impressive sight to see in person. Especially at night when “she” is lit from within by 1000 LED lights.
Bonne journée!

I love this. I have always been a very keen dancer, so these statues truly speak to me. There is nothing as liberating as dancing, only to be followed by surfing.
