Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Continuing on with our visit to the Bellagio Hotel, today we’re stopping in at the conservatory to check out the current seasonal display: Japanese Spring

Of course, you can’t have Spring in Japan without cherry blossoms.

The Bellagio employs an horticulture staff of 120 to maintain the Botanical Gardens and grounds of the hotel.

The ceiling framework and beams rise up 50′, and are sculpted from green metal of oxidized copper (verdigris) and set in floral patterns.

This represents the iconic Osaka Castle of Japan. Osaka has been selected as the host city of the 2025 World Exposition.

This huge floral arrangement was one of several dotted throughout the conservatory.

Designed to replicate the tea house that debuted at the Chicago World Expo of 1893, and is said to represent the grace, etiquette and hospitality of the age-old Japanese tea ceremony.

This large birdhouse is home to several pretty birds of various types.

I always enjoy a wander through the conservatory. I’m surprised that there isn’t an admission fee since everything else in the city costs money. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time, though. Until then, let’s enjoy it while it’s for free!
